Sud Logo

About a year ago, a classmate of mine back in high school and I met up and somewhere along our conversation, I jokingly (well, half serious) told him to hire me to do their music video or even their band's logo or something multimedia arts related basta, he'll hire me. haha. He was up to the idea ( at least in that moment i think. haha. ) So i made a few logo study for their band last year.

Here's what I came up with. I don't think they were able to use it but they did approve 1 out of the 4 I made. It was the one with the maroon color. :)

Anyways, here's more info about them-their band.

About their band. :)

"From delight we came into existence"

So goes the meaning behind Sud's tattoo that over time became the band's description of how they began making what is now the music behind the band, SUD.

Composed of Sud Ballecer on vocals and guitar and that ever famous 'fro, Marc Reyes on bass and the occasional Kaossilator, and Jimbo Cuenco on drums and that middle finger up, the band is a mix of technical ammo and a sure fire round of easy to hum to originals that will make you both jittery and comfortable at the same time.

The band came into being 2 years ago, with a completely different line up, having keyboard work and Sud solely on the mic and his then favorite comfort hoodie, shy eyes and all, gigging around the near metro with covers that span from ALO to John Mayer, showing promise as all the members hail from The UST conservatory of music, a sign that the band is really up to the task of making music as a career.

A few line up changes and bar gigs here and there eventually brought them to the attention of Jimbo, Chii's long time friend and bandmate (from a project called The Dinosaurs which is also worth checking out), starting a series of jams that gave birth to original songs that brought the members to a decision to have Jimbo do the drum work for the band. And it was full on songwriting since the solid four-piece line up came through.

Now the band is releasing a four track EP called Sleep Sex, with songs that shift from dancy beats to that four cornered blues to bass thumping funky rhythm lines to just everything feasible under the sun, proof that the band has so much more to offer than just a box of chocolates. No boxes here, actually. Just that good 'ol chocolate-y goodness from a band that's always constantly musically sexy and secure.

And so from delight they came into existence. But it's so much more than that now. The band is still very much delightful, but growing bigger balls by the day. Something everyone should have. Not just to exist. But to be permanent.
